Olivine managed resources from Demand Response Aggregator clients on first-ever Demand Response Auction Mechanism Pilot
Olivine is currently a scheduling coordinator (SC) and Wholesale Demand Response Provider (DRP) for resources participating in California’s Demand Response Auction Mechanism (DRAM). The DRAM pilot was first launched in 2016 by California’s investor-owned utilities (IOUs), under the direction and guidance of the CPUC. In this auction, the IOUs use an open bidding process to secure demand response (DR) capacity that is applied to their resource adequacy (RA) requirements for monthly and annual peak demand. Since its inception, Olivine has had extensive involvement in DRAM and has successfully managed resources in order to monetize their load flexibility and help balance the grid.
